supporting, connecting, growing
The launch of the "Diary" novel has opened three opportunities for me to engage and connect with teens. A brief description of each is listed below. I welcome a conversation with you on how I might help your students in any of these areas.
For those students who identify with being a Highly Sensitive Person, a workbook has been designed to guide them through the general knowledge of the HSP trait, as well as offer interactive exercises, group discussion questions and continued discovery in an engaging multi-media format. It is intended for an after-school club setting, although it can also be used one-on-one in a counselor/student environment.
The workbook content is produced by author, Jeannette Folan, and Certified Energy Medicine Practitioner, Yvonne Czarniak. It also includes a full reference section of evidence-based research.
In order to keep costs to a minimum, this workbook will only be available in digital format. Please contact the author for more information.
Throughout my journey, both as a corporate and creative writer, I have discovered that the "formula" for writing is a very personal one. Going beyond the "idea - draft - write - review - polish", my 45-minute Q&A presentation helps students discover how their own personal character and quirks shape the process of their best writing. This presentation includes writing exercises and a take-home worksheet.
Hear the story of how "Diary" was inspired by my experiences as I struggled with social anxiety and depression. This presentation shares general information about what it means to be a Highly Sensitive Person / Empath and includes a demonstration of anxiety skills exercises from the novel. The presentation may be customized from 30-minutes up to one hour.
